Favourite USA takes to the road

04/01/2012 14:30

Visit USA has been out on the road bringing together over 300 agents and a selection of key American suppliers.

A broad range of exhibitors toured London, Manchester and Bristol to spread the word on product and promotions currently drawing the crowds across The Pond.

At each venue more than 100 travel agents enjoyed an evening of destination and product updates, quizzes, spot prizes and entertainment, all introduced by Master of Ceremonies Nigel McShine-Jones.

Agents also had the chance to win prizes including flights to the USA, with accommodation and attraction tickets.

The aim of the roadshow was to stress the message that the USA remains one of the world’s most popular and exciting holiday destinations – and the organisers were pleased to see it was definitely still a favourite sell for top agents too.

The USA was recently voted favourite destination for 2011 in a poll taken among the 25,000 readers of the Daily Telegraph.

Asked about their likes and dislikes when going abroad and about their travel habits, readers placed the USA top of the pile, ranking it above even France and Spain.

Make sure you know what all the fuss is about by training on the USA.The bronze, silver or gold level modular training can help you get a handle on all the highlights and better sell the huge diversity of the destination’s appeal.

To support agents further the Visit USA Association in the UK has recently updated and refined its online US Travel Specialist training programme – which is available free of charge to UK travel agents. For more information and a gallery of pictures from the roadshows: www.visitusa.org.uk
